Great Post mike , I agree with you 100%. with the proliferation of high end [like iPhone,N800 (MID)] ,low cost [through Telco ] devices more and more people will and network expansion [3G,WiMax] more and more people will be swiching to mobile web and problem of segmentation will be automaitcally solved . so Mobile Web is far from dead.

you might be somewhat ahead of time ....i guess you guys should have tried for a little more time .but i am sure you will be back very soon with something better . Good Luck

Well said, Mike. I've been too bewildered by the sheer volume of ink flowing over this in the past couple of days to write anything myself, but I wish people weren't so dramatic about things.

I'm truly saddened to see Mowser go, but I know you two are damn brilliant guys and have no worries you'll be back on your feet sooner than later. On the other hand, I'm excited to see how much discussion it's opened on whether the definition of the mobile web needs to be updated. A few got their knickers in a twist, Valleywag was vile as usual. But at least it got people who don't usually think about mobile to spend some time evaluating where they stand nowadays.

Thanks again Mike.

Great post Mike, thanks for that! Couldn't agree more about the point about thinking, that always helps;-) And it's important to understand that it's never simple, never black and white, mobile has always had color and complexity. And the mobile ecosystem is about much more than just mobile web or not, it's about mobility, mobile services. About the fact that people are mobile. And I've heard that some people still use SMS;-) Some people even run successful businesses around that.

Anyway, all of this is what makes the mobile such an interesting business. You learn a lot every day and learning is not always fun. But you still learn. And even have fun.

So let's keep thinking mobile!
