Ripping mobility from the clutches of telecom
Mobile Mammals
James Pearce blogged the notes he had for the Mobile Monday peer awards and they made me really sad I wasn’t out there for the event. James always has great things to say, and he’s always so action oriented it makes me jealous I can’t present myself the same way. This is a bit from his notes I particularly liked:
What I see in front of me today is not a safe and lazy industry. You are not faceless brands, multi-national monopolies, or sanitised and defensive incumbents of some dull grey ecosystem.
No. You are the mobile mammals. You are the individuals, the entrepreneurs, the artists, the merchants, the craftsmen and women, the smart, ambitious, bright young things of all our mobile tomorrows.
I think I’m going to start using the phrase “mobile mammals” now, that’s just amazingly apt. Plus, everyone loves alliteration.

Thanks Mike – we miss you :-)
I can’t quite remember if I sneaked the “mobile mammals” phrase in eventually, but it’s one of my favourites (in the context of extinction, etc etc … )
I just grabbed the domain anyway :-)
