Up until a few days ago I wasn’t able to use Google Local for Mobile on TMobile (or the other Google Maps app Mobile GMaps. Which I found very very odd. I had Mobile GMaps installed for months before the Google offering came out, it was part of my standard “show off mobile apps” lineup so I pulled up the app relatively frequently. But then when the Google offering came out, and it didn’t work, I turned to someone and said “that’s dumb, I have this other app by a third party that does the same thing pretty much and it works”. But sure enough, starting right then the Mobile GMaps didn’t work either.
Suspicious, very suspicious. But earlier this week one of the guys at work who also has TMo said he tried out Google Local for Mobile and it worked. So I started up mine and sure enough, yep, it works now. And yes, Mobile GMaps is working also. Just thought there might be interested parties out there. Google will probably want to change the header on this page too, which says that Google Local for Mobile doesn’t work on T-Mobile. At least I hope they will, cause it would suck if this is a temporary glitch that’s allowing it to function.

I have been using Google Local on my T-Mobile phone since it debuted. I created my data profile through an online configurator, since my handset is unlocked and didn’t come with T-Mobile settings. Odd.
I did the same, have an unlocked 6680 I brought a few months ago and configured through the Nokia online configurator. Last time I had tried GLM was about 3 or four weeks ago, and I tried with another handset (a 6600) actually once my 6680 didn’t work on TMobile. The 6600 also didn’t work with GLM for me, though I didn’t try Mobile GMaps with it.
I tried GLM on my Moto V300 (TMobile) when it debuted. It works fine. But I did not use it very often.
It failed to install on Samsung D415 though.
Same exact thing here. For a period of time Google Local Mobile and Opera Mini were not working on T-Mobile. I also noticed that both of these apps are Java, so maybe it has something to do…
Google does not have the T-Mobile MDA listed as a supported phone, so how did you get the right stuff downloaded (like the .jar file) to the PDA?
I have the same problem as Mike. Got MDA from Tmobile so it is locked – Does any one know how to make Tmobile MDA unlocked and configure for Google Maps..Thnx in advance
I can’t get any apps to work on my tmobile razr, even though I have t-zones. Do I need a data plan? or does the razr just not run java apps?
